Decorative Flake Flooring
Decorative flake flooring is a broadcast system that gives concrete a finished, layered appearance while keeping the conversation grounded in preparation and the use of the room. It is often considered for garages, workshops, basements and customer-facing spaces.
A flake floor is not one universal recipe. The concrete, the chosen blend, the topcoat and the expected traffic all shape the installation approach.

What creates the flake finish
The visible blend is only one layer of a decorative flake floor. Below it, preparation and base coats create the foundation; above it, a clear protective layer helps define the final look and maintenance experience.
This is why sample chips by themselves are not the whole decision. Viewing a blend in context, under the space’s lighting and alongside the surrounding walls, storage or millwork, gives a more useful basis for selection.
Preparation keeps the finish honest
A flake finish can make a room feel complete, but it cannot correct an unprepared slab. Surface profiling, repair work and contamination management are planned before decorative materials enter the sequence.
The site review is where concrete condition, edges, thresholds and any prior coating are discussed. That helps establish the scope before colour selection becomes the main focus.
Use drives the topcoat conversation
A lightly used interior and a garage with regular vehicle traffic have different priorities. Cleaning habits, traction preferences and expected wear should influence how the finishing layer is selected.
